Are there mountain lions in the Catskills NY

Eastern cougars (mountain lions) do not have a native, self sustaining population in new york state.Each sighting involved cougars that are not native to new york.Are there any mountain lions in new york state quora.The most adamant proponents of mountain lions existing are the ones who want them to exist.I have seen or heard zero evidence of vt having any population.
